Based in Dallas, Texas, Paul Generale earned an MBA from the University of Houston at Clear Lake and a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Since 2016, Paul Generale of Dallas, Texas, has served as executive vice president and chief strategy and network officer at CHRISTUS Health, leading enterprise strategy, growth initiatives, new ventures, outpatient and post-acute services, and the employed physician network and health plan activities.
From 2011 to 2016, Mr. Generale was senior vice president of financial operations and ambulatory services at CHRISTUS Health, managing budgets, forecasting, supply chain, reimbursement, and risk while driving operational growth. From 2008 to 2011, he served as regional chief financial officer and vice president at CHRISTUS St. Vincent in Santa Fe, overseeing financial operations, revenue cycle, clinical quality, and system-wide planning across a 268-bed hospital, 25 clinics, and a 2,000-member workforce.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Generale led finance at CHRISTUS Health IT from 2007 to 2008. Before that, he managed operations as chief operating and financial officer at a 178-bed Houston hospital. He also held progressive finance roles at CHRISTUS St. John Hospital between 1998 and 2002, including project manager, senior financial analyst, and director of finance.
Mr. Generale is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives and a member of the Health Care Financial Management Association. He has contributed to his community through service on the boards of Houston Methodist St. John Hospital, Baptist Saint Anthony Health System, Rio Grande School, and the Children’s Museum in Santa Fe.
